Our Back Story…

Hi, my name is Travis. I founded Crazy Canadian Leather in Tokyo, Japan, in 2000. It started out as a hobby of making and selling handcrafted leather goods in a local park in Kichijoji, eventually gaining the attention of some local shop owners and department store buyers. I was given the nickname “Crazy Canadian” by a friend in the park fleamarket and adapted it as the company brand. In 2008, my family and I moved back to Toronto, Canada, and I continued the business here at home.

I began making leather goods for a Canadian fashion designer in 2009. My brother James joined the business officially in 2015, and together we began to combine custom leather goods with Pop Culture Fan Art.

When the Covid Shutdown hit, we began to invest and learn some new skills with 3D printing and Laser Engraving to complement the leatherwork, and then added Cosplay Commissions to our list of services.

My Predator Cosplay soon became a hit at many ComicCons and local events, and was adopted as a mascot for Crazy Canadian Cosplay Makerspace.

As 2025 wraps up, Crazy Canadian Leather will once again transform to adapt to a new passion-driven economy with some changes to our line of goods and services. Stay tuned for some exciting changes coming in the New Year!
